Georgia Southern rides leg of Bryant to 19-3 win over App State — Statesboro Technology news

STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - Georgia Southern has had their rival App State’s number, including a pair of wins over the Mountaineers just last year. Halloween, Erk Russell’s 100th birthday celebration, a trio of names honor and memorialized at Paulson created the perfect scenario the Eagles to add another win.It was a slow start offensively, neither team scoring in the first, although Chase Calicut on the third play from scrimmage picked off Malachi Singleton. We then had Tripp Bryant within the first minutes of the second quarter would finally break the deadlock from 25 yards away, capping a 14 play drive. Georgia Southern would keep the momentum rolling with their next possession giving us what would be the only touchdown scored in the game. Taeo Todd capped the 81 yard, 12 play drive with a five yard run halfway through the quarter. App State would end the shutout with a 33-yard field goal.It was all Tripp Bryant in the second half. Only nine points scored, all from Bryant. First from 3
